Adjacent to Bacoor further South is Imus which is the home of our Governor Maliksi. It has also been dubbed as the Christmas Capital of the Philippines in the 90s.
To the west is Kawit. This historical municipality is where our first President Emilio Aguinaldo waved the flag signaling our independence and freedom from the reign of the Spanish. It is said that the people of Cavite, especially the ones from Kawit are naturally courageous.
Another interesting part of Cavite is none other than Cavite City. No, Cavite City is not the Capital of Cavite. It is a municipality situated by the bay and where the legendary Sangley Point in World War 2 was located.
Now, the capital of Cavite is Trece Martirez City, or in English, “The 13 Martyrs.” Thirteen martyrs were hanged in this historical place during the time of the Spanish. Those martyrs were men of faith and religion.
Tagaytay City boasts an excellent view of the Taal series of volcanoes, situated along the ridge attract more local and foreign tourists. Numerous hotels and retreat spots populate the city with Taal Vista Hotel being the most popular. There are plenty of banks in case you run out of cash. Many food establishments such as Pancake House, Starbucks, Leslie’s, Grills, and fine dining restaurants such as our personal favorite Boutique offer a relaxing experience perfect for couples on a date or families who want to relax. At the moment, Ayala Land has a project to turn a big portion of Tagaytay into a bustling commercial zone. The most famous resthouses are also located at Canyon Woods and tagaytay Highlands among others. Fruits, plants, and flowers are cheaper in Tagaytay and Silang.
Another part of Cavite is Alfonso. This municipality is famous for the excellent coffee they grow. Some are exported and some are offered at first class restaurants.
Among all the provinces, Cavite has one of the highest numbers of malls and population, second only to Cebu.
